Navarran Wine Tour
Experience the beauty of the vineyards of Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnacha grapes at two of Navarra’s best wineries. Lezaun, founded 1780, blends tradition and innovation by growing organic wines on this 18th century estate. At Pago de Larrainzar, adjacent to Irache’s Monastery on the St James’ Way, harvest is still carried out by hand, in small boxes, selected bunch by bunch. Enjoy a tasting of two wines with light refreshments overlooking the Estate.
Visit two of Navarra’s best wineries: Lezaun and Pago de Larrainzar.
The pioneering Lezaun winery, founded 1780, blends tradition and innovation by growing organic wines on this 18th century estate. The old cellars are located in the basement of the centenary family home, a 17th century stone-carved building. We take a tour of the winery, glass in hand, and taste a second wine after the tour.
Next we explore the Pago de Larrainzar, adjacent to Irache’s Monastery on the St James’ Way. One hundred and fifty years ago, the great-grandfather of the founder established a vineyard of Tempranillo grapes and a small winery with limited production. It was awarded a gold medal in the wine competition at the 1929 World Exhibition in Barcelona. The harvest is still carried out by hand, in small boxes, selected bunch by bunch. Experience the beauty of the vineyards, the vineyard of Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnacha grapes, and then enjoy a tasting of two wines with light refreshments overlooking the Estate.
