Where is the Running of the Bulls?

The Running of the Bulls takes place in Pamplona’s Old Quarter, along winding, cobbled streets that barely span a half mile in length. The morning bull runs are the primary attraction of the 9-day festival that literally takes over the entire city of Pamplona. Private balconies are without question the best spot for watching the bull runs, which take place every morning at precisely 8 AM. The bull run route begins on Santo Domingo street and ends at the bullfighting stadium, known as the Plaza de Toros.

The bull run festivities are in full swing every year from July 6 to July 14 as the city of Pamplona swells with more than 1 million visitors. Between the early morning bull runs and evening bull fights, the festival is packed with musical performances, street parties, rural sporting competitions, parades, pyrotechnic displays and traditional events that appeal to the young and young-at-heart.

San Fermin Festival

Known locally as Sanfermines, the San Fermin Festival promises heart-thumping action, non-stop music, and plenty of warm Spanish hospitality. It is arguably one of the largest, most famous and well-attended festivals in the world – one that gained notoriety with Hemingway’s classic novel, The Sun Also Rises.
